We’ve been around for a pretty long time. Since 1922 in fact, when a group of Sunday school teachers from London took their schoolchildren, who had never had a holiday, out of the city to the South coast for a healthy and adventurous time.
Since then a nationwide business has evolved out of that simple idea to help people experience some fun and learn more about the outdoors as well as themselves. For many, many years we were called Barnabas Adventure Centres taking our name from Barnabas, who alongside St Paul, was an adventurer.
The essence of Barnabas lives on in our hearts and we have taken forward his spirit into todays organisation, which as of 2009 had a new name, Rock UK, but a set of values which are very much rooted in our heritage and our Christian faith. Rock UK now operates five UK Adventure Centres and a worldwide travel organisation called Trailblazers.
We are inspired by the outdoors and passionate about adventure and want to make it available to anyone and from all walks of life. We believe that spending time in the great outdoors with friends, family or on your own is something everyone should experience whether young or old and Rock UK Trailblazers embraces this through the provision of an ever increasing range of adventures and exciting worldwide destinations.
As part of the Rock UK experience your journey of adventure may start at one of our Adventure Centres and then continue by taking part in mini expeditions such as walking up Snowdon or canoeing down scenic UK rivers. For adventures further afield you can try an overseas summer or winter family holiday or an adventure project helping those in need. Or for the really adventurous test yourself on one of our amazing charity challenges and raise money for your favourite charity.
